The MaixanDo Association seeks to promote the work of Marie-Véra Maixandeau (1929-2018), an inspired composer from Monte-Carlo.
A child prodigy and virtuoso, unaffected by her poor eyesight, she entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris in 1945 in Jean Gallon’s class and won numerous prizes. Alongside her career as a composer, she taught at the Académie Municipale du Xe arrondissement in Paris and then at the Institut des Jeunes Aveugles (INJA).
Faith progressively took a greater place in her life and in her inspiration, and from 1957 onwards she took the path of the consecrated life.
